By using the Whistleblower House Website, you (the user) acknowledge and agree to the following privacy policy terms:
- These terms serve as a binding agreement between the website owners and the users of the website and/or the benefactors of its services.
- The user hereby declares that he/she is legally competent to accept, agree to and enter into this agreement.
- The website owners reserve the right to effect, in their sole discretion, amendments to these terms from time to time. Users will not be informed of any amendments and accept that it is their duty to frequently read through the terms, in order to stay abreast of any changes thereto.
- The user’s continued use of the website and services, in the event of an amendment to the terms, will constitute the user’s acceptance of, and agreement to, such amendment. The user will be entitled, if not in agreement with an amendment, to withdraw from the relationship with the website owners.
- Definitions:
- “Cookies” means the small blocks of data created by a web server while a user is browsing a website and placed on the user’s computer or other device by the user’s web browser.

- The views or opinions of another individual about the person; and
- The name of the person if it appears with other personal information relating to the person or if the disclosure of the name itself would reveal information about the person.
- “POPIA” means the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.
- “Service” means the web application.
- “Service Provider” means any natural or juristic person who processes data on behalf of the app owners. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the app owners to facilitate the service, to provide the service on behalf pf the owners, to perform services related to the service or to assist app owners in analysing how the service is used.
- “Traffic Data” means any data processed for the purposes of the conveyance of a communication on an electronic communications network in respect of that communication and includes data relating to the routing, duration or time of a communication;
- “User” means any individual that uses, or has registered to use, the website.

- “Web application” means the software that runs in the users web browser, which is owned and maintained by the website owner.
- “Website” means the set of related web pages under the domain name whistleblowerhouse.org or any other related domain associated with the website owner.
- “Website Owner” means The Whistleblower House NPC (Registration Number: 2021/717060/08), a company with limited liability and duly incorporated in terms of the Companies Act 71 of 2008, with its registered address at 1003 Otto du Plessis Drive, Big Bay, Cape Town, South Africa, being the owner of the website and web application (also referred to herein as “the company”).
- By using the website and/or any of the websites affiliated services you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with the terms of the privacy policy.
- While using our service, we may ask you to provide certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you, should you choose to become a registered user.
- Personal identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, your email address, first and last names, cell or telephone number, address, province, postal code, city, usage data etc.

- The sections where personal information will be suppliable may, from time to time, be changed. Such changes will not affect the validity of this agreement.
- The website owner will only make use of the personal information provided to it, for the purpose for which it has been provided.
- Personal information may be shared with operators to the extent necessary for them to administer and improve the website on our behalf, subject to POPIA restrictions.
