On 22 February 2026, TWBH marked four years of supporting and advocating for whistleblowers in South Africa. To date, 472 whistleblowers have reached out to access support through TWBH. Each person made the decision to speak up, often at significant personal and professional cost.
Whistleblowing is not only a legal act – it is an emotional and often dangerous journey. Many whistleblowers face trauma, isolation, and even threats to their safety. The psychological toll is real, and the personal cost high.
